Hello everyone!
We’ve had a very exciting week here at Aria Cappella! Our website is up and running, we have two new upcoming gigs to let you know about, and last Saturday we had the wonderful opportunity to sing live on air at 3MBS. Wow!
We were thrilled to be invited to perform on 3MBS’ Saturday afternoon program, Vocal Chords, which celebrates opera of all kinds, hosted by Sam Alfreds. It was an honour to perform live from the beautiful Lady Marigold Southey performance studio, in one of Melbourne’s historic radio stations.
Sam was a gracious and kind host. He was a joy to talk to, not only about our pieces and Aria Cappella’s journey, but a little about each of us and our personal background in music and voice. We’re very thankful to both Sam and Greg Matheson, our sound engineer, for making the whole thing run so smoothly! We definitely had the butterflies en masse beforehand, but it was a lot of fun in the end, moving from the performance studio to the recording booth.
We performed a few beloved classics you may have heard us sing before, and debuted a new arrangement for the first time from Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore. The program is available for streaming on 3MBS’ website. Check it out along with other 3MBS programmes online or on 103.5FM.
As we certainly never want to miss a chance to spruik, we also announced two upcoming performances on air:
Romantica: Songs of love, lust, and wedding frivolity, will be a celebration of the great love songs from opera, and will feature all new repertoire! For more details see our event on Facebook here, or check out the calendar on our website.

Opera & Afternoon Tea: As a special treat for the Seniors Festival, Aria Cappella is very pleased to perform their thrilling repertoire of operatic delights in their signature, a cappella style. We are so proud to have this opportunity to volunteer our time and talents to give back to the community who has upheld a love of classical music for future generations to enjoy.
Presented with the kind support of Provincial Events, who have donated the use of their venue and staff for the day. The ticket price covers an abundance of sweet and savoury treats for you to enjoy whilst we perform, in the gorgeous Wattle Park Chalet.
Bring the whole family for a lovely Sunday afternoon of music and treats in a truly stunning venue.
